New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NJ SPCA)
The NJ SPCA was created in 1868 and is the second oldest SPCA in the country. Its agents are in charge of investigating and prosecuting all persons involved in animal abuse and neglect, and they work tirelessly to give a voice to all of the animals in this state. The NJ SPCA is funded solely by donations, grants, bequests and fines levied, and receives no government funding or tax dollars. All pet food and pet supplies donated go to the NJ SPCA, which distributes these much needed supplies to animal shelters throughout the entire state!
